Is Baker Beach still open?
COVID-19 note: the beaches in San Francisco are all open, and now the parking lots at Baker Beach, China Beach and Fort Funston are open, as well as the Langdon Court (Overlook) lot for Marshall Beach and the Hamilton St. lot for Crissy Field. The two lots for Lands End and the Ocean Beach lot at the end of Sloat Blvd.

Located in the northwestern area of San Francisco in the Presidio, Baker Beach is primarily known for its sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the neighboring Marin Headlands. The mile-long beach offers travelers plenty of room to spread their legs and features picnic areas and access to nearby Presidio trails.

The northern section of Baker Beach is "frequented by clothing-optional sunbathers," and as such it is considered a nude beach. The 160 acres (65 ha) property was settled by John Henry Baker in the 1850s and was known as Golden Gate Milk Ranch.
Is Baker Beach busy?
Baker Beach can get crowded on warm, sunny days, especially on weekend and holidays. The parking lots fill up and it's not easy to find parking in the neighborhood, so come before noon, or earlier. Weekdays are pretty good even when it's sunny.
