The U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized the Covid-19 vaccine from Pfizer Inc. PFE 0.71% and BioNTech SE BNTX 10.15% for use in children 12 to 15 years. The shot is the first cleared for administration in the younger age group, after the FDA last December approved the vaccine for ages 16 and up.

UPDATE: The Food and Drug Administration has approved Pfizer and BioNTech's request to allow their COVID-19 vaccine to be given to kids ages 12 to 15 on an emergency use basis, allowing states to get middle school students vaccinated before the fall.
