What does it mean to Enter the Void?
Enter the Void is about life after death. Specifically, it's about the life after death that troubles all of us atheists and rationalists most of all: the life after death that we all believe in – other people's lives in this busy and unhappy world carrying on heedlessly after we are dead.
Is Enter the Void scary?
Noe actually punishes you for watching this movie. Scare-Factor: 1.5 - There are things in this movie that are incredibly disturbing and scary in a realistic sense, but none of them are your traditional horror fare.
What drug is in Enter the Void?
The active ingredient in the traditional brew is dimethyltryptamine, or DMT, drug of choice for Enter the Void protagonist Alex (played by Cyril Roy). In a telephone interview with Wired.com, Noe described the visual effect caused by the drug: “Everything seems like it's made out of neon lights,” Noe says.
Is Enter the Void depressing?
This isn't too surprising given how antitheist his films are, and while “Enter the Void” is much more spiritual than his other films, it's also much more accepting of death. That may sound depressing in theory, but Noé is so comfortable in his beliefs that there's little room for depression.
